Really? Don't remember too much dreams where the scene is in the past one.

Been analysing dreams for quite sometime, often notice that the dream has alot in common with the day's happening, but in an abstract way, which to the uninformed mind, seems totally unrelated to the day's sights and sounds. Don't know how it choose which happenings of the day to play out, but if perceptive enough, some may realise that there are often pockets of the dream that is somewhat similar (but not the same) to things that had happened in the day. Probably also because most are not mindful of most sights and thoughts they have in the day, so, can't really compare with dream to note the similarity.

So, think to a greater extent, dream is more of a way to help the brain organise and store the information/experience that one had for the day, through an elaborate story that many don't really understand. In a way, its mnemonic, but instead of words, the brain do it with pictorial story perhaps.

Most dreams are false. There are 4 causes of dreams, 2.5 of them are untrue.
